Fire on Product Tanker ATA VOYAGER

There was a fire on the product tanker ATA VOYAGER on May 18, 2023.  At the time, the vessel was at Kucukcekmese anchorage, Istanbul.  According to reports, a fire broke out in the tanker’s engine room.  It is unclear if anyone was injured or burned during the fire.  Additional details have not yet been released.

There have been a number of recent incidents involving vessels.  There was a boating accident on a recreational vessel on Lake Jesup, Florida on May 9, 2023.  There was a deadly accident on Percy Priest Lake in Tennessee on May 12, 2023.  A small boat capsized near Freeport, Texas on May 12, 2023.  Two jet skis collided on Mountain Island Lake in North Carolina on May 14, 2023.  There was a deadly accident on the bulk carrier SASEBO ECO on May 11, 2023.
