There was a small plane crash near Old Harbor, Alaska on July 3, 2023. According to reports, a Piper Cherokee crashed just minutes into its flight from Old Harbor to Kodiak. Two passengers on board were killed in the crash. Three others were taken by helicopter to a local hospital for treatment. The flight was operated by Kodiak-based Vertigo Air Taxi.
