Preliminary Investigation Begins on Fuselage Failure on Alaska Airlines Flight

by | Jan 7, 2024 | Aviation Accident

The fleet of Boeing Max 737 Max 9s has been grounded by the Federal Aviation Administration following an incident that occurred aboard Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 on Friday January 5, 2023. While the flight was over Oregon, en route to its destination, part of the fuselage blew off the aircraft leaving a gaping hole in the side of the plane. Thankfully no one perished in this mishap but this type of incident can be both dangerous and harmful as the cabin rapidly depressurizes once exposed to the elements of high altitude.

There have been a number of recent plane crashes.  A Beechcraft B36 crashed in Burnet, Texas on December 17, 2023.  A Beechcraft Bonanza crashed into a parking lot at Lake Lanier Islands Resort in Georgia on December 21, 2023.  A Cessna 172 crashed while landing at the Kahului Airport on December 23, 2023.  A Cirrus SR22 crashed in Van Zandt County, Texas on December 22, 2023.  A Piper Malibu crashed in Mooresville, North Carolina on December 31, 2023.
