There was a deadly hot air balloon accident in Orange County, Vermont on July 15, 2021. A pilot and four passengers departed the Post Mills Airport in Orange County, Vermont. The balloon attempted to land in a field and tipped over. One passenger fell out of the balloon, and the pilot became trapped in gear underneath the basket. The pilot later fell from the balloon near the New Hampshire border. The balloon continued flying until it became stuck in some trees. The pilot died in the incident.
The incident occurs shortly after the June 26, 2021 deadly balloon crash in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
