A small recreational boat capsized near Slidell, Louisiana on September 18, 2022. At the time, the vessel was on Lake Borgne. One of occupants texted a family member that assistance was needed after the 21 foot center console boat capsized. The Coast Guard was notified, and able to send a MH-60 Jayhawk Helicopter to assist the boaters. Two individuals and a dog were rescued by the Coast Guard with the assistance of a Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries boat.
