There was a deadly boating accident near Port O’Connor, Texas on January 28, 2023. According to the Coast Guard, a barge being towed by the towing vessel Chip Stiebing struck an aluminum skiff. The boats were located in the Intracoastal Waterway north of Shoal Water Bay. Two people on the skiff were ejected from the boat. One boater was rescued by a good samaritan vessel.
