There was a deadly boating accident in Horry County, South Carolina on July 19, 2023. A recreational boat was struck by the wake from another boat on the Intracoastal Waterway. Nine people were thrown out of the boat as a result of the impact with the wake. One minor female was hit by the propeller when she was thrown overboard. The victim died at a local hospital.
